We offer what we believe is the best martial art in the world. Taekwondo is an exciting and powerful martial art known for its dynamic kicking and hand techniques. Although these martial art techniques are centuries old, our programs are always evolving to keep pace with the rapidly changing world.  We offer classes for ages 3-6 (ATA Tigers), 7-12 (Juniors and Preteens) 13-up Teens/Adults. We provide Traditional Songham Taekwondo Forms, weapons and sparring.  We also offer both extreme/creative martial arts training, which demonstrates both open hand and weapon training.  Extreme and Creative utilize traditional taekwondo, power tumbling and tricking into routines.

Christy Bamburg
5th Degree Black Belt

Christy Bamburg is a Chief Instructor and School Owner of Coppell ATA Martial Arts and Coppell AMA.  She is a Certified Instructor in Traditional Taekwondo and Protech (weapons) with the American Taekwondo Association (ATA). She is also a certified SHARP instructor (Sexual Harassment and Rape Prevention).  She has over 20 years of experience working with special needs students of all ages. Ms. Bamburg currently holds the Title of the 2005 National Champion in traditional weapons and the Title of the 2008 World Champion in ATA X-treme weapons.  Ms. Bamburg has been working with the students of Coppell ATA for over 16 years

Katelyn Jackson
4th Degree Black Belt

Katelyn is a certified instructor in the American Taekwondo Association. She instructs the Advanced Tigers and WOY Juniors.  She will happily answer any questions that you may have about our programs or events. She graduated from UNT with a BA in History.  She teaches AP Human Geography at Clark High School in the Plano ISD.

DYLAN JOSEPH
4th Degree Black Belt

Dylan is a certified instructor with the American Taekwondo Association. He instructs the Camo-Red Juniors class, as well as helps with the WOY Juniors, Black Belt Juniors, and Adult Classes. He is 14x World Champion in Traditional Weapons,  Xtreme, and Creative Weapons.  He has been training with Coppell ATA Martial Arts since he was 5 years old.  He assists with all classes.  He is a true inspiration to all students.  He is currently taking classes at North Lake Community College.

Trace Megellas

3rd Degree Black Belt (ATA),  4th Degree Black Belt (GTMA)

Trace is the creator of the TForceElite Team • 26 time Creative and Extreme Weapon and Open Hand World Champion in four leagues (ATA, NBL, BASKA/The League, USKA and Purple Dragon) • Competed Nationally and Internationally (United States, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, Uruguay, Guatemala and Peru) • 2011 & 2012 ESPN Martial Arts Invitational Tournament Creative Weapon overall Champion– Televised World Wide • Good Morning America Interview – 2 times • Performed at American Airlines Sky Ball with 3,000 in attendance twice for the US Marines and the US Army • Numerous Martial Art magazine and Star Telegram Newspaper stories and bios • Named The League Martial Artist of The Year •.  He teaches the xtreme and creative classes on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.  He also has recently started working as a head chef.
