EARL SHIFLETT

Earl Shiflett is the Chief Instructor and School Owner of Coppell ATA Black Belt Academy and Karate for Kids. He is a Certified Instructor and 5th Degree Black Belt of the American Taekwondo Association (ATA). Mr. Shiflett is a graduate of Coppell High School and of Texas A&M University where he earned a B. S. Degree in Geology.

Mr. Shiflett has been actively involved with the ATA for 17 years, and has been ranked several times in the World, National and State standings. One of his goals is to become a Master Instructor, which he trains his mind and body for everyday. Mr. Shiflett believes in the ATA and continues to pass on the knowledge and values that have made himself and many others into exceptional leaders and athletes.

Outside of Taekwondo, Mr. Shiflett enjoys the outdoor life. Hiking, spelunking and playing lacrosse are some of his favorite activities. He was captain of the Coppell Lacrosse Team his senior year and also played for Texas A&M. In his spare time, Mr. Shiflett helps as a trainer and an assistant coach for the Coppell Lacrosse Team.


 

CHRISTY JACKSON

Christy Jackson is the Head Instructor and School Owner of Coppell ATA Black Belt Academy and Karate for Kids. She is a 3rd Degree Black Belt and has completed the 300 hour instructor course to receive the title of Certified Instructor in May 2004 from the American Taekwondo Association (ATA).

Mrs. Jackson has won the title of Texas State Champion in both Forms and Weapons for her division in 2004 and 2005. She has been Nationally and World ranked in the Top Ten for her division in Forms and Weapons also in 2004 and 2005. Her dedication and perseverance led to her winning the title of 2005 Weapons National Champion and 2008 XMA Weapons World Champion.

Mrs. Jackson is very proud that her husband Jay, daughters Emily, Katelyn and Madison and her son David are all black belts of the ATA. She believes that the skills in Leadership and the Philosophy of the ATA has been a great asset to her family.
